A world first in the battle against plastic pollution.

BODY BIKE has made the worlds first indoor bike that's built using recycled plastic from commercial fishing nets.  The OCEANIX is a BODY BIKE SMART+.  It comes with all of the functionality you'd expect from a SMART+ model.  The OCEANIX comes in just one distinctive colour: Ocean Blue.

IT ISN'T JUST A BIKE
IT'S PART OF THE FIGHT AGAINST PLASTIC POLLUTION

Plastic – and more specifically society’s excessive use of it – is a topic that’s capturing the headlines at the moment, and for good reason: our planet is under huge pressure and we need to act now.

The crisis is particularly evident in our oceans, where garbage islands the size of continents gather in the currents, and marine life perish either from consuming plastic in lieu of food, or from becoming trapped in it.

It’s a situation that is unacceptable, and we could no longer sit back and passively watch this ecological disaster unfurling before our eyes.

We firmly believe that, if every individual takes action in their own small way, together we can redress the balance in our oceans.

We’ve found a company in Denmark, Plastix, that goes around the world – Alaska, Scotland, Scandinavia – buying old plastic fishing nets from commercial fishing fleets. This in itself is great: it prevents the nets from being discarded in the ocean, burned or buried in landfill.

But it’s what Plastix does next that really excited us: they takes these nets, melt them down and turn them into pellets of recycled plastic that can be used for other purposes.
